    Goa Worth A Fight

“Goa’s greatest asset is it's environment and it's ecology, it's rivers and riverbanks, it's beaches, it's lakes and clear streams, it's dense forests, it's low hills and fertile fields, it's boulders and even trees shrouded with moss and vines and lichen in the rains, its ridiculously brilliant sunsets…Goa is truly a land worth fighting for” - Justice Gautam Patel

    Our Mission

Goa’s land is not real estate, it is our shared future.
We believe that how land is to be used must be planned by and for the citizens of Goa.

As India’s smallest and one of its most biodiverse states, Goa’s land is both limited and ecologically sensitive.
Our land sustains our lives and livelihoods: fields and forests support farming and fishing, the coastline powers tourism, villages and heritage buildings preserve our culture, and commons hold communities together.
But today, this landscape is under threat. Rampant land conversion and unplanned development are transforming farmland into gated colonies, and clearing hills and forests for luxury resorts. Opaque planning is allowing powerful interests to reshape Goa for profit. We are a citizen-led initiative seeking transparency, accountability, and genuine public participation in land use and planning. We track conversion and development proposals, expose the misuse of planning laws, and equip residents to challenge destructive projects. Through our work, we aim to make land use planning transparent, accountable, and democratic
